"In the Midst" Stories

WONDROUS LOVE

      Depending on which hymnal you open, you will find three, four, or  even seven verses to sing. But this wasn't about the words so much this time. I held the sustain pedal continuously the first time through the song. And without adding any additional notes or chords, it was interesting to hear the overtones that were created. And so it is in our lives. There are way more blendings and tonal colors crossing in our life than we ever seem to be aware of. I notice more and more of God's wondrous love being saturated in my life.

      While creating Tattered & Worn with Ted Swartz, we discovered that haunting melody line could weave it's way through the story. A gentle reminder that it's always about something greater than ourselves. God is real, His love is real. Even when you choose to reject it. It's beyond our very limited human comprehension. And I'm am so very glad it is.
